We've reported that Wetterling and Klobuchar have already starting fundraising. So has Robert Fitzgerald. Only, it's not for himself.
On Saturday, March 19th US Senate candidate Robert Fitzgerald joined over 25 musicians who performed at the American Legion Post 30 in a fund-raiser with the goal of sending musical instruments to soldiers stationed in Iraq.
Fundraiser coordinators Barb and Steve Baker, owners of Fergus Music, have a son, Marty Byrne, who is in the National Guard and currently stationed in Baghdad, Iraq.
If any other candidate for senate had done this, there would have been articles, photos and press releases, as well as a few interviews. Mr. Fitzgerald just joined in, played some music, and helped out. Pictures are posted on his senate campaign site site.
More about Operation Happy Note here.
I'm a pretty staunch DFLer, but I hope Mr. Fitgerald begins to get the attention he deserves.
