Brass band has come on stage. Welcome to the convention. Star Spangled Banner...
Delegates in sections D-G for anyone familiar with Midway...
Rew's thoughts - a) my computer is going to fry in the sun. It's very hard to blog in the sun, so apologize our errors.
Talk about what the IP is trying to do these days. To back track a bit, this is quite possibly the most "fun" of the conventions. We started with some music by "Emerson, Lake and Lyndale", then delegates came in to a brass band playing "When the Saints go marching in." And of course, the Buffalo.
Some words "We haven't seen bold politics since Jack Kennedy took us to the moon...we've vastly exceeded our endorsing turnout from 4 years ago. ...Beating the odds, silencing our critics...is exactly what America is about..." then a liteny about what Minnesota would be like if certain companies hadn't struggled to stay here. "Hard work and leadership will overcome any challenge facing us...We ned to elect real leaders who paint a picture of our future and make people think of what they must do to get us there."
Kind words about the candidates up today, mostly Team Hutchinson people. "These candidates embody the values of our party and will provide Minnesota with the leadership it longs for.
Just nominated Pieter Thardlson as state convention chair, and I realize that's my colege buddy Ingrid's brother. Small world.
